Security & file handling

How we protect the documents you process

Documents are personal. When you use easyPDF you are trusting us with a file, and we take that seriously. This page explains, in plain language, exactly what happens to your documents and how we keep them safe.

Encrypted transfer

Every connection to easyPDF uses HTTPS (TLS). Your file is encrypted in transit between your device and our server, so it cannot be read by anyone intercepting the connection on the network.

Files are temporary

Your document is uploaded only to perform the operation you requested — compress, merge, split, convert, rotate, protect or unlock. As soon as that operation finishes and the result is delivered, both the original upload and the generated file are deleted from the server automatically. We do not keep long-term copies.

No reading, no indexing, no selling

We do not open, read, index, profile or analyse the contents of your documents, and we never sell or share them with third parties. The only processing that takes place is the technical operation you asked for.

What we do log

For security and to keep the service running we record a small amount of technical, non-identifying data: which tool was used, the file size and format, whether the operation succeeded, how long it took, and the date and time. Any IP address is stored only in a hashed (pseudonymised) form. We do not log the file name or the contents of your documents. The full detail is in our Privacy & Cookies notice.

Passwords and protected files

For the “protect” and “unlock” tools, the password you type is used only to perform that single operation on that single file, and is discarded together with the file afterwards. We cannot recover or reset a password you have forgotten — only the document owner who knows it can unlock a protected PDF.

Advertising and cookies

The free service is supported by advertising. Profiling cookies for ads and analytics are loaded only after you give consent in the cookie banner; if you decline, the tools keep working without them. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer of the home page.

Reporting a security issue

If you believe you have found a security problem, please tell us via the Contact page so we can investigate and fix it quickly. We appreciate responsible disclosure.
