How to split a PDF
Splitting a PDF lets you take a smaller piece out of a larger document — a single chapter, one signed page, or a range to send to a colleague — without sharing the whole file. This guide explains how to extract the pages you need for free with easyPDF.
When to split
- Sending only the relevant pages of a long contract or manual.
- Separating a combined scan back into individual documents.
- Pulling out a single page to sign, fill in or print.
Steps
- Open the Split PDF tool from the home page.
- Add the PDF you want to split.
- Enter the page range you want to keep — for example pages 3 to 8 — or the point where the document should be divided.
- Click Process.
- Download the resulting file or files.
Tips
- Check the page numbers in your PDF viewer first, so you extract exactly the right range.
- Need to reorder or remove pages rather than cut a range? Use the in-page editor, or rotate pages if some are sideways.
- After splitting, you can merge the pieces with other documents.
Is it safe?
Your document is uploaded over an encrypted connection and removed automatically once the split is done. We never read or keep your files — see the Security page.
