How to rotate PDF pages
Scanners and phone cameras often save pages sideways or upside down. Rotating fixes the orientation permanently inside the file, so the document reads correctly for everyone you send it to — not just when you tilt your own screen. This guide shows how to rotate a PDF for free.
When to rotate
- A scan came out in landscape when it should be portrait.
- One or two pages in a document are turned the wrong way.
- A photographed page needs to be straightened before sharing.
Steps
- Open the Rotate PDF tool from the home page.
- Add the PDF you want to fix.
- Choose how far to turn the pages — 90° clockwise, 90° anticlockwise or 180° — and, if the tool allows, which pages to apply it to.
- Click Process.
- Download the corrected document.
Tips
- Rotating saves the orientation into the file itself, unlike simply turning the view in your PDF reader, which is not kept when the file is shared.
- Only some pages wrong? Apply the rotation to just those pages so the rest stay as they are.
- Combine with split or merge to fully reorganise a document.
